Open Borders: People, spaces, and cross-border practices between the Alps and the Adriatic

Open Borders: People, spaces, and cross-border practices between the Alps and the Adriatic

The exhibition helps us understand that the borders between countries and different political systems were not merely rigid divides, even during the Cold War.

On 23 May 2025, at 19:00, a multilingual exhibition will take place in the underpass beneath the railway tracks.

The exhibition helps us understand that the borders between countries and different political systems were not merely rigid divides, even during the Cold War. On the contrary, they were also places of cross-border passage, exchange, cooperation, and planning. The exhibition focuses on people, spaces, and cross-border practices that developed across the Austrian-Yugoslav-Italian borders from the end of World War II onwards.
