"On the trail of the ancient glassworks of the Gorizia area"

"On the trail of the ancient glassworks of the Gorizia area"

The exhibition in Gorizia explores the history of glass production in the Tarnova Forest, as part of the Interreg Glass Routes project. It is hosted at the Provincial Museums of Borgo Castello and the Museum of Fashion and Applied Arts.

Set in the Garden of Encounter at the Provincial Museums of Borgo Castello and within the Museum of Fashion and Applied Arts, the exhibition presents the history of glassmaking in the Tarnova Forest, now in Slovenia, but in the 18th century part of the County of Gorizia and Gradisca within the Habsburg domains.

The exhibition path is complemented by a slideshow at the museum entrance featuring photographs by Massimo Crivellari, capturing the quiet beauty of the landscape and its enduring connection between nature, labor, and memory.

The initiative is part of the SPF Interreg Glass Routes project, aimed at enhancing cross-border cultural heritage.

The exhibition will be open to visitors throughout the summer.

The Glass Routes project is financed by the European Union through the GO! 2025 Small Project Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Programme, managed by the EGTC GO.
