Music Beyond Borders

Music Beyond Borders

A cross‑border concert celebrating the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica-Gorizia, between Piuma Park and Panovec Forest.

Born of a collaboration between the Italian and Slovenian forestry services, a guided nature walk (or a bike excursion) will serve as a bridge between two performances by the “Violoncelli Itineranti”:

  • 07:30 – Concert at Piuma Park, Gorizia: a tribute to Slovenian women’s poetry in Italy, blending music and verse in both Slovene and Italian.
  • Transfer from Piuma Park to Panovec Forest by free shuttle bus (seats limited).
  • Guided nature walk of 90 minutes through Panovec Forest, led by Slovenian forestry officers.
  • 11:00 – Concert at Panovec Forest, Nova Gorica: a journey through traditional and folk songs – from Friulian and Istrian, to Gorizian and overseas traditions – with special guest Marko Čepak on guitar.

Original Music: “Violoncelli Itineranti”
Andrejka Možina: cello & voice
Irene Ferro‑Casagrande: cello
Carla Scandura: cello
Marko Čepak: guitar
