Museum Tuesday Evening: In the Footsteps of Glassmakers in the Goriška Region

A cultural evening dedicated to the fragile yet enduring heritage of the historical glassworks (glažute) in the Trnovo Forest, organized within the cross-border project "In the Footsteps of Glassmakers in the Goriška Region". The public event blends documentary film screenings and historical accounts of a craft born from sand, wood, and fire.

Organized by the Goriški muzej at Kromberk Castle, this installment of the "Museum Tuesday Evening" series explores the industrial and cultural legacy of local glassmaking in the Trnovo Forest.

Led by Dr. Petra Kolenc, head of the cross-border project, attendees will travel back in time to discover how historical glassmaking communities shaped the region's identity by harnessing local natural resources.

Through documentary video footage, archival research, and personal narratives, the event offers a journalistic overview of the socio-economic impact of this traditional craft on the border area.

Admission is free.
