Migrart: Migrant Art Exhibition

On Friday, October 17 at 18:00, the collective Menti libere will present Migrart: Art as Encounter at Carinarnica in Nova Gorica — an exhibition of drawings and testimonies by migrants, collected over a decade along the transborder space.
On Friday, October 17 at 18:00, the exhibition Migrart: Art as Encounter opens at Carinarnica, Erjavčeva ulica (street) 53, in Nova Gorica. Organized by the collective Menti libere, the project has been active since 2015, collecting drawings and personal stories of migrants on 30-meter-long paper rolls created along migratory routes. Marking the project's tenth anniversary, the exhibition will showcase nine completed rolls for the first time in a comprehensive way — physically stretching between Gorizia and Nova Gorica to symbolically connect the two cities.
The collective's participatory approach actively involves local communities across the Italian-Slovenian border region. The exhibition invites reflection on themes of migration, identity, and coexistence.
Contributing artists include Tommaso Sandri, Matteo Bompasso, Michele Cattani, Spartak Khachanonov, and Raffaele Saviano, whose works enrich and expand the collected migrant narratives.
