We warmly welcome you to Mediterranea 20 - the Biennale of Young Artists, which will bring together more than 94 young artists from Europe and the Mediterranean.

A collective breathing practice to start your day!
Marica Mastromarino, A Collective Breath, A Collective Voice, participative performance
This meditative practice guides participants in tuning into their body, breath, and surroundings. Through a journey of listening and vocalisation, it aims to connect inner and outer spaces, transcending boundaries through collective breath and voice.

Launch of the Call and presentation of the upcoming residency opportunities
Feed Your Future: Call for Artivists
As part of Feed Your Future – Engaging Youth for Creative Climate Action, a European project that promotes youth empowerment through socially engaged art, residencies, public performances, and sustainable design practices, this event launches the European Call for Artists to participate in the School of Artivism. Curated by Julia Rajacic and Tiziana Pers, the School will feature diverse voices and train young creatives to address climate and food challenges through engaged artistic practices.

Keit Bonnici: Absolute Resemblance Cannot be Guaranteed, performative public intervention
Absolute Resemblance Cannot be Guaranteed is a live-streamed performance where the artist, wearing a disruptive coloration suit, moves slowly across Bevkov square, questioning surveillance and the broadcasting of cultural events. By altering his appearance and movement, he challenges the physical and social order of the space.

Ilan Huart: Borderless Creativity: Where Music Meets Architecture, performance lecture
Ilan Huart's work explores the intersection of music and architecture. Inspired by both sound and form, he creates pieces that reflect this connection. He hopes for a grand concert hall in Sarajevo, believing music and space complement each other, elevating the experience of both.

Teresa Carvalheira: Can you (really) eat the eel?, food design, mixed media, show – cooking, booklet and poster
Are you seelrious? Did you know the European eel (Anguilla anguilla) is Creeltically eeldangered? Deelicious, but then, can we reely eat the eel? Can you (really) eat the eel? is a participatory edible research experience serving Fakeel in Escabeche sauce, an Iberian – inspired deep – fried knockoff version of eel, a plant-based alternative to boost Eel conservation efforts. The Eel Recipes to Save the Eel" booklet offers recipes and info for nature and food enthusiasts, accompanied by a Glossareel and a poster, Use Your Eelmagination, featuring illustrations from participatory drawing sessions. A Neelsletter keeps the research circulating.

Gaja Pegan Nahtigal & Liza Sočan: Borderline Delicious, mixed media installation, performance / participatory art; foraging, cooking
Borderline Delicious explores how food transcends borders, blending local ingredients with "invasive" species to reflect the complex histories and migrations that shape landscapes and biodiversity. The project comes alive through foraging – cooking workshops and a menu featuring rolled-up pastries inspired by Mediterranean traditions.

Pino Pograjc: Schizofag – Schizofag is a chapbook of poems by Pograjc, exploring queerness, mental illness, and personal struggles through a confessional style. Illustrated by Maja Poljanc and designed by Gal Grobovšek, it offers a unique voice that reflects the fragmentation of psychosis.
