Main Ceremony Commemorating King Charles X of France and the Bourbon Dynasty: "A King in the City of Roses"

A comprehensive series of historical talks, guided tours, and open-house events across Gorizia and Nova Gorica marking the 190th anniversary of King Charles X of France and celebrating the shared Bourbon legacy.

The city of Nova Gorica will mark a significant historical occasion with a formal ceremony dedicated to the memory of the last Bourbon King of France, Charles X. Entitled "A King in the City of Roses", the event will feature cultural presentations reflecting on the royal family's legacy and their final resting place at the nearby Kostanjevica Monastery.

This commemorative evening aims to celebrate the rich cross-border heritage and European history embedded within the local area.

The coordination of the commemorations has been undertaken by the Municipality of Nova Gorica, with numerous institutions and organizations from both sides of the border joining forces in preparing the program. The anniversary thus serves as an opportunity not only to revive historical memory, but also to strengthen cross-border cooperation.

Members of the public, dignitaries, and history enthusiasts are invited to honor this landmark chapter of the region's past.
