International Bat Night at Rihemberk Castle

You are warmly invited to the International Bat Night at Rihemberk Castle.
Did you know that bats also perform at the European Capital of Culture?
On Saturday, on 30 of August at 18:00, we will pay tribute to these extremely beneficial and protected nocturnal fliers with a varied programme. Their calls and other nature sounds have been interwoven with electronically generated sounds by composer Boštjan Perovšek in the sound sculpture "Unaudible – Audible, Among the Bats". But how is this possible if bat voices are inaudible to humans? How do bats orient themselves with the echoes of their own calls? How do they communicate with each other?
All this and more will be answered by the artist Boštjan Perovšek and bat researcher Dr. Klemen Koselj.
Visit Rihemberk Castle, enjoy the sounds of bats, learn about their important role in nature and enjoy an evening full of experiences for all generations!
