HORIZONS – VIDEO INSTALLATION BY K3 FILM FESTIVAL

A video installation of three films in the Ingeborg Bachmann Dome, Nova Gorica, exploring perspectives and transcending borders through the horizon line.

HORIZONS – VIDEO INSTALLATION BY K3 FILM FESTIVAL

Horizons is a video installation by the K3 Film Festival (Fritz Hock & Piera Nodari), presented from 7 to 12 October 2025 in the Ingeborg Bachmann Dome (EPIC district, Nova Gorica). The opening will take place on 7 October at 21.00, in the presence of the artists.

Three films, three horizons – set up like signposts in the center of the dome. The rotating screens shift orientation and perspective, each featuring a horizontal line as a reference point:

  • LICHTHÖHE (2020–2022, Kozek Hörlonski) explores the aesthetics of alpine heights (North).

  • GRATINATED BRAIN OF PUPILIJA FERKEVERK (1970, Karpo Godina) looks South, towards the Adriatic lagoon.

  • I DRAW A LINE, THE SKY WILL BE ABOVE. #3 (2021, Davorin Marc) deconstructs the horizon as a manifestation.

Horizons is an invitation to shift perspectives and rethink orientation, embracing the theme of GO! 2025 – transcending borders and connecting cultures.

K3 Film Festival
The K3 Film Festival takes place every December in Villach, Austria. With its unique focus on the three neighboring cultural regions of Slovenia, Italy, and Austria, it has always gone beyond borders—creating bridges and new opportunities.

The Ingeborg Bachmann Dome
Ingeborg Bachmann (1926–1973), born in Klagenfurt, is regarded as one of the most important literary voices of the 20th century. Since April 2025, the EPIC district in Nova Gorica has hosted the Ingeborg Bachmann Dome—a symbolic and physical link between Nova Gorica and Carinthia in Austria. The dome, on loan from the Carinthian Cultural Foundation, was designed and built by Gerhard Fresacher and Armin Guerino.
