GORIŠKI MLAJ In KRESOVANJE 2026

The Municipality of Nova Gorica is organizing a traditional set of events on Labor Day as part of the Goriški mlaj 2026 event.

The first part of the multi-day program will take place from Monday, April 27, to Thursday, April 30, 2026, starting on the Trnovski Planota and ending in Nova Gorica with the traditional FURENGA, the transportation of the young bull by horse-drawn carriage.

The procession's arrival in front of the municipal palace in Nova Gorica is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., followed by an official reception of participants and the decoration and installation of the new year tree.

The program will continue on the lawn in front of the Municipal Palace, where it will conclude with a ceremonial lighting of the bonfire at 8:30 p.m., followed by a concert by the Koala Voice band.

The celebration will conclude on May 1st, when the traditional May Day vigil will be held on Labor Day, which will be performed by the Gorizia Wind Orchestra at various locations in Nova Gorica and Solkan between 6:00 and 11:00.
