GoRise Festival

GoRise Festival is an international music festival organized by Glasbena matica and will take place from 19 to 24 July 2026 in the area of Gorica, Nova Gorica and Brda. 

The festival is created in an area where different cultures, languages and musical traditions meet, and therefore has a distinctly cross-border nature from its very beginning. The artistic director of the festival is the world-renowned pianist Alexander Gadjiev , one of the most prominent musicians of his generation, who will also lead a piano master class as part of the festival. His artistic vision gives the festival international recognition and at the same time emphasizes the importance of combining top-notch concert activities with the education of young musicians.
 
The pedagogical part will take place in Gorizia, at the headquarters of the Glasbena Matica in Trgovinski dom and the Kb center.
A piano masterclass led by Alexander and Sijavush Gadjiev , a composition masterclass led by Guillem Palomar , and a harmony masterclass led by Andrea Miazzon are planned.
The courses will provide participants with an in-depth artistic experience, direct contact with cutting-edge musical practices, and the opportunity for personal and professional growth.
The GoRise Festival is supported by the Carigo Foundation, the GO! 2025 Institute, the Collettivo Terzo Teatro Association and the Trieste Gorica Cooperative Karst Bank .
 
Events:
Sunday, July 20, at 8 p.m. in Vila Vipolže - opening concert, featuring pianist Alessandro Deljavan.
Tuesday, July 21, at 8 p.m. in Dobrovo Castle - concert by cellist Mon Puo Lee.
Wednesday, July 22, at 8 p.m. at Epic in Nova Gorica - concert of active participants of the piano master class with Alexander and Sijavush Gadjiev
Thursday, July 23, at 8 p.m. in the Dora Bassi Hall in Gorizia - lecture entitled Aus der Ferne … Schumann and the Poetics of Reminiscences, led by musicologist Francesco Fontanelli
Friday, July 24, at 8 p.m., in the Cultural Center in Gorizia , the final concert of the active participants of the piano master class with Alexander and Sijavush Gadjiev
