GO! 2025: one year after the opening

One year ago, Nova Gorica and Gorizia came to life as the first cross-border European Capital of Culture in the history of the European Union.

To celebrate the first anniversary of the launch of the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025, the EGTC GO is organising an afternoon at the GO! Center in Gorizia dedicated to telling the story and preserving the memory of this first year of activities.

The event will begin at 1:00 pm with the Mayors of Nova Gorica and Gorizia, Samo Turel and Rodolfo Ziberna, who will celebrate together the first anniversary of GO! 2025.

On this occasion, the photographic exhibition Objective GO! 2025 by Pierluigi Bumbaca, photojournalist of GO! 2025, will be inaugurated. Through his photographs, he has captured the most significant moments of 2025.

In the same context, the SPF (Small Project Fund) project Kiss&GO will promote the importance of multilingualism in a playful and engaging way, through interactive installations.

Visitors will also be able to view an exhibition dedicated to the history of the EGTC GO, from its foundation to the present day.

Meeting with the Mayors of Nova Gorica and Gorizia, Samo Turel and Rodolfo Ziberna, one year after the inauguration of GO! 2025, followed by the opening of the photographic exhibition.

 

From 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm

- Kiss&GO Project (SPF GO! 2025) – an interactive installation promoting bilingualism through a playful approach, suitable also for children

- Photo Exhibition Obiettivo GO! 2025 – a collection of photographs from the year 2025 by Pierluigi Bumbaca, photojournalist from Gorizia and witness to the extraordinary year of the European Capital of Culture

- EGTC GO – Building a Shared Territory – a narrative exhibition on the recent history of the cross-border area and the main milestones achieved in 15 years since the establishment of the EGTC GO

- SPF GO! 2025, One Year of Projects – video testimonials of projects implemented in the area thanks to the Small Project Fund – SPF GO! 2025 of the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme
