European week of mobility

"Celebrate with us, actively!”

On Wednesday, September 23, downtown Nova Gorica will close its streets to motor traffic, transforming public spaces into active hubs for movement, games, and community gathering. 

The main event, themed “Celebrate with us, actively!”, integrates the local Sustainable Mobility and Sports Festival with the 20th anniversary of the Nova Gorica Gymnasium's sports department.

An interactive movement polygon will connect various venues across the town center, featuring school cross-country races, sports club presentations, street fitness, yoga sessions, and a spectacular highline performance stretched above the public square. 

Throughout the day, Bevk Square will host mobility-themed video projections, a documentary screening about the international COP30 Bike Ride relay, and a free bike-repair workshop. 

In the afternoon, the focus will shift to a roundtable discussion on active lifestyle habits featuring successful local athletes, followed by live theater, dance, and musical performances.
