EGTCs: Experiences and Perspectives for Cross-Border Cooperation

An important conference promoted by EGTC GO, EGTC Euregio senza confini and CNR Isteg aims at taking stock of the present and future of territorial cooperation in Europe, with a special focus on the role of EGTCs and the new challenges of shared governance in border areas.

On Friday, October 30, 2026, the Gorizia Campus of the University of Trieste will host the institutional and academic conference entitled "EGTC: Experiences and Perspectives for Cross-Border Cooperation." The initiative represents a crucial opportunity to discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with the integrated development of border territories, drawing in particular on the concrete experiences of the EGTC GO and the EGTC Euregio Senza Confini.

The day's work will be divided into two sessions: in the morning, the book "European Groups of Territorial Cooperation in Italy" will be presented, focusing on entities with Italian participation; in the afternoon, the discussion will shift to the prospects for cooperation in the Italian-Slovenian-Austrian space, the opportunities introduced by the BRIDGEforEU regulation, and the strategic role of EGTCs as future Cross-Border Focal Points for resolving cross-border obstacles.

The event will bring together representatives from academia, institutions, and European cooperation organizations.

Participation is free previous online registration.
