The 2024 Symposium will take place from May 6 to 8 at the Palazzo del Cinema in Gorizia and at the Slovenian Cinematheque in Ljubljana, to explore the audiovisual heritage along the Italian-Slovenian border through moving images. This year, the focus is on the importance of local film cultures and cross-border film practices, as well as the role of television in the wider cross-border area.
The speakers will include: Andrej Šprah, Mojca Petrič Bužan, Naško Križnar, Bojan Brezigar, Borut Klabjan, Stojan Pelko, Lucio Fabi, Steven Stergar, Piero Pieri, Piero Colussi, Paolo Lughi, Marco Rossitti, Nicoletta Romeo, Daniele Terzioli, Sergio Grmek Germani, and many others.
The programme is intended for anyone interested or involved in film culture, researchers, students, teachers, and professors. The lectures will be held in Slovenian and Italian, with simultaneous translation. Admission to all conference sessions is free.
The Symposium is part of the official programme of GO! 2025. Kinoatelje co-produces the project with a series of national and European partners.
