Concert of the Duo Riverberi

The collaboration between the Basilica of Aquileia and neighboring Slovenia is renewed, in the spirit of GO! 2025 and its message, which must neither be forgotten nor abandoned. This is achieved through a double concert by the organ and saxophone duo Riverberi , on Thursday, August 20th, at the Co-Cathedral of the Divine Savior in Nova Gorica and on Friday, August 21st, at the Patriarchal Basilica of Aquileia , both at 8:45 pm.

One more way to celebrate the art present in the Basilica of Aquileia, including organ building: in fact, thanks to the collaboration between the So.Co.BA Foundation and the Friuli Foundation , the 2001 Zanin organ has undergone restoration and maintenance work, and the concert will serve to re-inaugurate the precious instrument.

But the Riverberi duo, composed of Pietro Tagliaferri and Stefano Pellini , will also play the other organ present in the Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998, the Kaufmann organ, donated to the Basilica of Aquileia in 1898 by the Emperor of Austria-Hungary Franz Joseph after saving himself from an assassination attempt.

The musical project "Riverberi" was born in 2003 from the collaboration between Pietro Tagliaferri and composer Massimo Berzolla. Since 2009, they have collaborated with organist Stefano Pellini. The duo has recorded with Progetto Musica, Stradivarius, and Elegia Records and has performed more than two hundred concerts worldwide.

The Basilica Concerts season, organized by the Foundation for the Conservation of the Basilica of Aquileia together with the Ruda Polyphonic Choir, is made possible thanks to the contributions of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Friuli Foundation, the Aquileia Foundation, and the BCC Venezia Giulia, in collaboration with the Municipality of Aquileia, the Basilica of Sant'Eufemia in Grado, and the Mattiussi family.

All information about the season is available on the official website of the Basilica of Aquileia, www.basilicadiaquileia.it
