City of Books 2026 – Flora & Fauna

Mesto knjige returns to Nova Gorica from 28 August to 4 September with the 2026 edition dedicated to “Flora and Fauna”. Eight days of literary talks, readings, music, exhibitions, installations, workshops and a book fair will explore the relationship between people and the natural world.

The 2026 Mesto knjige literary festival has chosen the theme “Flora and Fauna” to explore, through literature and the arts, the relationship between humans and the living world.

Over 45 guests are scheduled for the event, along with numerous events, including meetings with authors, readings, musical events, exhibitions, installations, and activities dedicated to a younger audience.

The program takes place in various locations in Nova Gorica, with events involving bookstores, parks, libraries, and other cultural spaces in the city.

The festival is rounded off by the traditional book market, scheduled for September 1st to 4th in Delpinova ulica.
