Facade of the future EPIC

Burnt in Memories

Film screening at the facade of the future EPIC.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the fall of fascism, we invite you to a screening of of the film BURNT IN MEMORIES (dir. Anja Medved and Nadja Velušček, 2017), which will shed light on the building of the future EPIC of GO! 2025.

The film recounts the memories of residents of Slovenia, Italy and Croatia during the Nazi occupation, which in the cross-border region of the Adriatic coast followed the already difficult period of fascism. In order to take revenge on the civilian population, which allegedly supported the resistance, the occupying forces enacted a systematic measure that led to the destruction of over 250 villages. Massacres, looting and deportations followed. The survivors had to build a new world on the rubble. This period of fear and hope is only remembered today by those who were children at the time, making the film also a narrative about the absurdity of all wars.
