Aquileia Walking Festival 2026

Aquileia Walking Festival 2026

The Aquileia Walking Festival 2026 will take place from 17 to 19 April in Aquileia, promoting slow tourism and the culture of walking. The event invites participants to rediscover the territory through a mindful and accessible approach, open to both experienced walkers and newcomers.

For three days, Aquileia—historically a crossroads of routes and pilgrimage paths—will host talks, workshops, guided walks, and cultural activities across archaeological sites, green areas, and local venues.

All events are free of charge, with mandatory online booking starting from 7 April 2026 at 10:00.

The festival is organized by Fondazione Aquileia in partnership with local and regional institutions, including the Municipality of Aquileia, PromoTurismoFVG and Cammini d’Italia.

Highlights of the programme include:

  • Opening conference on cultural welfare, sport, and walking governance
  • Talks and storytelling on major European routes (including Via Francigena and Camino de Santiago)
  • Archaeological and nature walks
  • Experiential activities such as forest bathing
  • Technical workshops and educational labs
  • Film screenings and public talks

The festival concludes on Sunday, 19 April with a collective walk (approx. 12.5 km) through the Aquileia landscape, combining natural and historical heritage.
