Una conversazione con Kapka Kassabova

You are kindly invited to a conversation with the Bulgarian poet and writer Kapka Kassabova on 29 May 2025 at the Library of France Bevk in Nova Gorica and on 30 May at the Knjigarna kavarna Maks.

Kapka Kassabova, a Bulgarian poet and writer living in the Highlands of Scotland. Her Balkan quartet Border, To the Lake, Elixir, and Anima is a polyphonic exploration of the human experience through geography, history, ecology, and psychology. The first two books explore borders and the consequences they bring. In her acclaimed Border, she delves into the legacy and life of the triple border zone where Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey meet. And in To the Lake, she returns to her ancestral lakes Ohrid and Prespa, shared by Macedonia, Albania and Greece.

For the literary evening on 29 May 2025, transportation will be organized from Ljubljana:

  • Departure from Ljubljana: Tivoli parking lot, gathering at 17:15, bus departs at 17:30, arrival in Nova Gorica expected around 19:00.
  • Return from Nova Gorica: bus departs from the SNG Nova Gorica parking lot at 22:00. Passengers will also be dropped off, if needed, near Vič Church and at Kongresni trg. Arrival at the Tivoli parking lot is expected around 23:30.
  • The cost of the transportation is 10€ (round trip). Registration is mandatory at pisarna@razpotja.si. Confirmation and payment instructions will be sent on Tuesday, 27 May.
