The GO(d)BA project aims to create a cross-border wind orchestra to strengthen the cultural image in the border area between Nova Gorica and Gorica. The goal will also be achieved through cooperation with the orchestra of Chemnitz, which will be together with Nova Gorica and Gorica the European Capital of Culture in 2025. The project includes the preparation of a competition to identify the official ECOC anthem, which will be used in all major events. Approximately 15 cross-border concerts will be organized, including promotional concerts in correlation with main events and commiserations and 4 evening concerts to be held in castles in the cross-border area. The added value of the project is the international exchange of wind orchestras to establish a direct connection with the city of Chemnitz: a cross-border orchestra will be hosted in Germany and a German orchestra in the Gorica region.
The project is financed by the European Union through the GO! 2025 Small Project Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Programme, managed by the EGTC GO.
