A priceless asset, nature is simply beautiful and magical in all of its forms. Fortunately, the Vipava Valley and the Goriška Region have managed to keep their finest and most remarkable natural parts intact.  The nature reserves in the Trnovo Forest and the landscape park on Mt Nanos captivate visitors with their biodiversity and rare plant species. However, the most eye-catching sights are the natural wonders, i.e., the peculiarly curious karst phenomena, which also play a special role in the ancient folk stories passed down through the generations.

Today, this remarkable area features many hiking and cycling trails, leading visitors past these amazing natural wonders.  Considering how easily accessible these natural gems are today, the locals encourage visitors to act responsibly to help preserve the local natural wealth.
