Ermacora

Ermacora Winery is located in Ipplis di Premariacco and Orsaria, in the province of Udine, within the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC wine region.

The family has been cultivating the same land for over a century. In 1922, the estate consisted of just four hectares and a small farmhouse: one horse shared with a neighbour, a few cows, and farmyard animals. Today, the estate spans 67 hectares, and the story has reached its fourth generation with grandsons Nicola and Demis.

The journey began with their grandfather Marino and continued with his sons, Luciano and Dario, who, in the late 1970s, made the decision to focus exclusively on wine production. From that moment on, vineyard by vineyard, the winery continued to grow, culminating in the opening of a new winemaking facility at the Orsaria estate in 2019.

The wines are instantly recognisable in the glass: precise, elegant, and well-structured, expressing the unique ponca soils and the ideal exposure of these hills. Alongside Friuli's classic white varieties, such as Friulano, the estate also champions some of the region's most distinctive native grapes, notably Pignolo and Picolit, combining a strong commitment to environmentally conscious viticulture with meticulous attention to every detail.

Yet here, wine is never put on a pedestal—it is simply meant to be enjoyed. As the locals say, "Vin e amîs un paradîs" ("Wine and friends are paradise"). Visitors can experience this philosophy firsthand through guided winery tours and tastings, which can be booked directly on the estate's website. Once there, you'll stroll through the vineyards, admire the patchwork of woods and vines that follows the rolling hills, and end the visit with a glass of wine in hand.
