Storie Di Confine/Border Stories

In the wake of Nova Gorica–Gorizia European Capital of Culture, the Department of Culture and Sport of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region and GECT GO, in collaboration with the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation, are promoting Storie Di Confine/Border Stories: a traveling series of meetings with internationally renowned guests scheduled in Gorizia, Pordenone, Udine, and Trieste between February and May. The event will be accompanied by a European journalism award that recognizes reporting that seizes on cross-border relations as an opportunity for growth and innovation.

The initiative reflects on the changing dimension of borders : from physical, geographical, and social limits to a "gateway" for new dynamics of creativity, coexistence, dialogue, and cultural experimentation capable of recognizing the complex memories that characterize border identities.

The events will all take place at 6:30 PM:

Talk 01 - Political Border, February 17, 2026, in Gorizia at the Auditorium of Friulian Culture

Talk 02 - Cultural Border, March 3, 2026 in Pordenone at the former Convent of San Francesco

Talk 03 - Economic Border, April 9, 2026, in Udine at the Palamostre

Talk 04 - Human Border, May 4, 2026, Trieste, at the Rossetti Theater, Bartoli Hall

The winning investigations of the Journalism Award will be published in an anthology presented at the end of May in Gorizia, as part of the International History Festival - èStoria.
