"Paradisum"

"Paradisum"

Paradisum explores the myth of rebirth after the silence of a destroyed world, where the body becomes the only means of communication and movement the only universal language. The creatures of this idyllic dimension emerge from the ever-changing forces of nature, dancing in the pulsating vortex of the fabric of life that surrounds them. Through scenes of purification, birth, awakening, and ritual, they rise to reach the anima mundi, the universal spirit of the world.

Directed and choreographed by Bence Vági, the show explores the infinite possibilities of cirque danse, a genre that fuses contemporary dance with circus arts, in search of an ethereal language of movement capable of expressing humanity's anxieties.
After My Land (2018), which drew on the strength of the native land, Solus Amor (2020), which narrated love beyond the confines of time and space, and IMA (2022), which evoked the creative power of silence, Recirquel's new production, Paradisum, weaves the fabric of life into the natural world, giving life to beings devoid of memory, pain, or beliefs, moved only by instinct. They experience the strength of community and create a harmonious balance founded on pure love and absolute trust.

The choreography draws on both the aerial and terrestrial disciplines of circus arts, through the language of contemporary dance, taking cirque danse—already a hallmark of Recirquel productions in recent years—towards new, fascinating dimensions.
