6° Festival Della Psicologia In FVG "Alla Scoperta Dell’inconscio Oggi
The final stage of the 6th edition of the Psychology Festival in Friuli Venezia Giulia will be held on Friday, April 3, at 6:00 PM at the Cormons Municipal Theater.
"Discovering the Unconscious Today. The Modernity of Edoardo Weiss's Thought" with Andrea Clarici, university researcher and professor of Dynamic Psychology at the University of Trieste.
The conference explores the thought of Edoardo Weiss, a Trieste-born psychoanalyst and direct student of Freud, one of the most important psychoanalytic theorists in Italy. Weiss placed emotions and affective life in human relationships at the center of clinical psychoanalysis, shifting the focus from understanding unconscious contents to the relevance of feelings.
The meeting will compare Weiss's ideas with modern knowledge from disciplines bordering psychoanalysis, such as neuroscience, evolutionary psychology (particularly the study of the origins of emotions in animals), and developmental studies. It will highlight his pioneering role in reconciling disciplines that address the unconscious and cognitive dimensions to understand human experience.
