The Time We Still Have Left

The Time We Still Have Left

The graphic novel "The Time We Still Have Left" by Simona Dell’Orto concludes the Oltreconfine Ungaretti project with two events blending art and poetry.

The Oltreconfine Ungaretti project reaches its final stage with the presentation of the graphic novel “Il tempo che ci è rimasto ancora” (The Time We Still Have Left), illustrated by Simona Dell’Orto. This concluding event marks the culmination of nearly a year-long shared journey through collective memory.

Two presentations are scheduled:

  • On Monday 13 October at 6 p.m. at the Franceta Bevka Library (Trg Edvarda Kardelja 4, Nova Gorica).
  • On Thursday 16 October at 6:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Hall in Sagrado.

The events will feature a video presentation with illustrations from the graphic novel, created and scored by musician Franco Feruglio. Simona Dell’Orto will present her work, while Francesco Accomando, artistic director of Oltreconfine Ungaretti, and lecturer Tjaša Ruzzier will read poems in Italian and Slovene.

The story’s protagonists are he – the universal soldier – and she – civil society. The poetic voice draws not only from Ungaretti, but also from Slovene poets, demonstrating how different languages share the same universal poetic expression that transcends time and space.
