There will also be the reigning world and Olympic champion, Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis, among those registered for a cross-border pole vault competition on the calendar of the International Athletics Federation, which will be held in the picturesque setting of Piazza Transalpina, between Gorizia and Nova Gorica.
The sporting event, unique in its kind, is one of Go 2025's flagship events.
The parterre of participants is rich: in addition to Duplantis, the ten-time world record holder, also competing will be the Greek Emmanouil Karalis, winner of the bronze medal at last year's Paris Olympics, Slovenian record holder Tina Šutej and two-time Italian national pole vault champion Elisa Molinarolo.
The athletes will compete in a fascinating and symbolic competition, as they will cross the pole exactly on the border line between Gorizia and Nova Gorica, in the iconic Transalpina/Trg Evrope square.
The race, organised by Atletica Gorizia, will be included in the calendar of the international athletics federation as a World Rankings Competion Label, and will therefore also have an absolute competitive value.
