Crossroads GO! 2025 Special Edition: the Stolpersteine

Third edition of the tourist-cultural festival across Gorizia and Nova Gorica: 45 events to explore the region and its history. June 15: the Jewish community of Gorizia.

The third edition of the tourist-cultural festival organized by the Municipality of Gorizia runs from May 2025 to January 2026 and features 45 events across four themes: Discover the Territory, Agro-food Products, Historic Trains, and Guided Itineraries – offering excursions on foot, by hot-air balloon, bus, train, and bike through Gorizia and Nova Gorica.

On Sunday, June 15, 2025, a cycling tour will explore the Jewish community of Gorizia, with stops at the Stolpersteine, the former Jewish ghetto, and the Valdirose cemetery. Since 2016, the Amici di Israele Association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Gorizia, has promoted the installation of Stolpersteine – commemorative stones created by German artist Gunter Demnig – along a route that highlights the places and figures of Gorizia’s Jewish history. The tour will be led by the association’s president, Lorenzo Drascek.

Bike rental available (for a fee). Repeats: October 19 (both tours will be held in Italian and Slovenian).
Reservations required by the Friday before the tour: crocevie.europa@comune.gorizia.it / Whatsapp +39 335 7707746
