22nd Traditional Meeting of Mountaineers on Črna prsta | Hiking and Cycling Festival Soča Valley

Črna prst, the easternmost peak of the Bohinj-Tolmin Mountains, got its name from the dark patch of Jurassic slate just below the peak.

Its edge flirts with the Triglav National Park. Črna prst, a particularly sunny slope above Baška grapa, has been famous for its diverse flora since the end of the 18th century. Its flower carpets are at their most beautiful at the height of mountain spring and early summer, usually in July. Zorko Jelinčič mountain lodge on Črna prst The lodge stands just below the peak of the mountain along the Slovenian mountain transversal and the international Via Alpina hiking trail. Since 1959, it has been maintained by the Podbrdo Mountaineering Association.

Capacities: double rooms - 8 beds, dormitories - 30 beds, winter room - 2 beds.

Open: from the beginning of June to mid-September. From Podbrdo, we head along the marked mountain path to Črna prst (Podbrdo–Trtnik–Kalarsko Brdo–Črna prst).

At Črna prsta, you will be welcomed by the house. At 11 am, a short cultural program will follow, followed by a holy mass for all deceased mountaineers. This will be followed by socializing with live music from the local accordion and refreshments with baked fish from the local fish farm Slap (near Ruscu). At approximately 2 pm, we will return to the valley.

We invite you to take the train to Podbrdo and thus help create greater use of public transport and a smaller carbon footprint.
