16th Hike along the Bevk Trail | Soča Valley Hiking & Biking Festival

It takes place as part of Bevk Days 2026, which each year mark the anniversaries of the birth and death of France Bevk, our literary giant. At the starting point, hikers are introduced to Baška grapa through a short cultural programme, with an emphasis on Hudajužna – the Chapel of St Barbara and the information point. On the way from Hudajužna towards Zakojca, excerpts from Bevk’s works, selected by the hikers, are read every year. The hike and cultural event at his homestead in Zakojca at 11.30, where hikers from both directions gather, offer a unique opportunity to connect various institutions and providers working in the field of cultural and literary tourism. MEETING POINT: at 9.30 in Hudajužna (Community Centre – Bevk Trail information point) DURATION OF THE TRIP: 1.5 hours (from Hudajužna – Community Centre) EQUIPMENT: Hiking footwear, poles (optional) PRICE: EUR 5 (guided tour, cultural programme, information sheet) • we recommend that hikers bring one of Bevk’s literary works with them (the fee is reduced to EUR 3) Programme 9.00: reception and welcome at the starting point – Community Centre in Hudajužna, Hudajužna 22b 9.30: Hudajužna – Community Centre, short cultural programme – literary performances by members of the association and a singing performance 11.30: Zakojca (France Bevk Homestead) – short cultural programme, welcome by TD pod Kojco, free guided tour of Bevk’s Homestead 12.30: Bevk lunch in Zakojca at the Pri Flandru Tourist Farm Access to the starting point: Train: Hudajužna (Baška grapa – Municipality of Tolmin) can also be reached by train from Nova Gorica and from the direction of Ljubljana – Jesenice.
