Topolo Open Air Cinema

Topolò, the traveling Cinema Isonzo / potujoči Kino Soča, continues its turquoise journey along the emerald river, bringing high-quality cinematic experiences. Until the end of summer, it will illuminate summer nights and bring the magic of cinema under the stars with film screenings and talks with filmmakers. This event is a collaboration between Kinoatelje and the Robida Association.

Fiume or Death!

In 1919, D'Annunzio, leading a convoy of trucks and soldiers, moved towards Rijeka in what has gone down in history as the Fiume Expedition. But what memory does the Croatian city retain of that expedition today? With irony and with the complicity of the local community, director Bezinović meticulously reconstructs the 16-month occupation of his city, as an act of exorcism and, at the same time, a reappropriation of memory. The film received the Tiger Award and the FIPRESCI Prize at the 54th Rotterdam International Film Festival. The traveling Cinema Isonzo – Kino Soča, active since 2024, organizes outdoor screenings in picturesque locations along the border, in collaboration with various partners in the region. The event is part of the Go Green Cinema project, which targets a broad cross-border audience, local residents, occasional foreign visitors, and participants in the official GO! 2025 program of the European Capital of Culture.
