Slovenian Film in Italy Series

Slovenian Film in Italy Series

The Slovenian film cycle in Italy continues—the May programme brings fresh film stories, we will see the film Opazovanje (Observation).

On Thursday, 22 May 2025, at 20:00, the film Opazovanje (Observation; 2023) by Janez Burger will be screened at Palazzo del Cinema. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaking team, which will offer valuable insight into the filmmaking process and shed light on its topical subject matter at a time when digital reality is increasingly shaping our everyday lives.

Opazovanje is a tense psychological thriller that follows a young paramedic, Lara, caught in a whirlwind of mystery and sinister events. When she receives mysterious videos of a brutal crime, which she watched live on Facebook, she begins to investigate her possible involvement. This leads her into a world of doubts, ambiguities and moral dilemmas. Produced by Staregare, the film won the Best Actress award at the Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož, which went to Diana Kolenc for her performance as Lara. The film was also awarded the Vesna for set and sound design.

The film will be screened in Slovenian with Italian subtitles.
