In case of bad weather, the screening will be moved to the Grgar Cultural Center. Free admission.
It Was a Beautiful Day Perica Rai, Slovenia, 2024, 90' The story follows four friends – Manca (Katarina Čas), Trina (Nina Ivanišin), Iza (Tina Vrbnjak) and Taja (Ula Furlan) – who retreat to the solitude of the Slovenian mountains every summer. This time, however, they are caught up in an unresolved past, unusual villagers, a mysterious hunter (Jure Henigman) and threats that test their bond and courage. Janez Starina, Barbara Ribnikar and Uroš Fürst also appear in supporting roles. The film was made over a decade without institutional support – it was created with the complete dedication of a team that did its work voluntarily. The result is a tense, atmospheric narrative, shot in one day, that explores the vulnerability of friendship, the power of nature and the fragility of the human inner landscape. The Isonzo Cinema, which runs from 2024, is setting up annual cinemas in picturesque locations along the border, in collaboration with key partners from the region. The event is part of the Go Green Cinema project, which addresses the wider cross-border public, local residents, occasional foreign visitors and participants within the official programme of the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025. It is produced with the support of the European Union from the GO! 2025 Small Projects Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia programme 2021-2027, managed by the EGTC GO. www.ita-slo.eu & www.euro-go.eu/spfLanguage info
