Traces of Art in the Cross-Border Area: Undiscovered Authors between the Vipava and the Soča

The round table Traces of Art in the Cross-Border Area will highlight lesser-known artists from the area between Vipava, Savogna d’Isonzo and the wider Venetian region. In addition to discussing their importance for local and cross-border cultural identity, three new thematic routes developed within the BEroots – Between Rivers and Lagoons: Artistic Routes project will be presented, designed for families, seniors and children.

The round table will be dedicated to lesser-known artists from the cross-border area between Vipava, Savogna d’Isonzo and the wider Venetian region.

Painters, sculptors, poets, composers and writers who left a significant mark on this territory often remained in the shadow of more renowned names – this time, however, we wish to give them voice and space. 

The event is part of the Interreg Italy–Slovenia project BEroots – Between Rivers and Lagoons: Artistic Routes, which connects cultural heritage with sustainable tourism and active leisure.

In addition to presenting the selected artists and discussing their significance for local and cross-border cultural identity, we will also introduce three new thematic routes developed within the project. 

These routes are designed for families, seniors and children, combining movement, immersion in nature and the discovery of cultural heritage through art. 

The BEroots project is co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme.

The event is open to the general public, art lovers, researchers and all those interested in the heritage of cultural routes, networking and collaboration in an area where different traditions and stories intertwine. Admission is free.
