"Together." Concerto for Violin, Cello, Flute, and Piano

"Together." Concerto for Violin, Cello, Flute, and Piano

Gal Faganel, cello Alessia Scilipoti, flute Neža Nahtigal, violin Vera Cecino, piano Music by Rota, Jevtić, Pucihar, Tailleferre, Crumb.

The composers performed this evening, though diverse in geography and era, share a personal and accessible approach to musical modernity.

Representatives of their respective national cultures, honored along with the musicians who share the stage, the Italian Rota and the Slovenian Pucihar, although distant in time and context, share a melodic and direct language: Rota combined irony and neoclassicism in his famous film scores, while Pucihar writes with clarity and freshness, often addressing young performers.

Jevtić, of Serbian origin, fuses Balkan lyricism and classical form.

Tailleferre, the only woman in the famous Groupe des Six, adopts a neoclassical, light and ironic spirit.

Crumb, finally, explores sound as a sensorial and symbolic experience, employing extensive techniques.

In all of them, the desire for an expressive language emerges, capable of combining tradition and innovation, communicating to the public without sacrificing complexity.
