THE RESISTANT BEAUTY

RESISTANT BEAUTY, a solo exhibition of paintings by Friulian artist Pier Toffoletti.

Friulian artist Pier Toffoletti has developed his artistic career on national and international circuits since his debut at the end of 1994.

Its main reference gallery is located in Tuscany.

Other non-national galleries were located in the USA, England, Greece and Switzerland.

This exhibition could be the occasion to crown the thirtieth anniversary of his artistic journey.

The exhibition, entitled “RESISTANT BEAUTY,” was promoted by the Municipality of Cividale del Friuli, represented by Dr. Angela Zappulla, Councilor for Culture.

Pier Toffoletti's solo exhibition will be held at the Church of Santa Maria dei Battuti in Via Borgo di Ponte 1 in Cividale del Friuli (UD).

Pier Toffoletti exhibits a series of paintings on canvas whose theme is woman, as a symbol of nature.

Giorgio Barassi describes it well in this excerpt: That grey, which has always populated his noble paintings, is within his heart and he does not detach himself from it even if he wanted to.

It's his signature, and he's made it so prominent that it's become one of the notes, the dominant one, that distinguishes him.

There he successfully ventures into the glow of free yellows and greens in the field of the work, presents brushstrokes of a true inventor and slashes of romantic and fascinating lights, and accompanies the faces of popular Madonnas with a refined orange.

Because what drives Pier Toffoletti is always and in any case beauty.

Enchanting faces of women whose bodies and gazes become more beautiful thanks to meticulous investigation, a refined technique, and that candid soul that can be read in the smiles and calm words of one of the most intense and appreciated authors of Italian painting.

Toffoletti invented a lot, and not a little.

She invented that singular way of removing the women who animate the world from everyday life and covering them in that thin veil of refinement, a little melancholic but so effective.

He invented a way of painting that included interventions with other materials, for many very distant from painting and for him the seasoning of a complex and highly effective artistic operation.

He invented, and let him be given credit for it, the wise dignity of keeping silent about statements.

For many, these would be a means of boasting, but for him, they are merely constituent elements. The Church of Santa Maria dei Battuti is located at Via Borgo di Ponte 1 in Cividale del Friuli.
