Stazione Ferroviaria Nova Gorica Multivocalita Del Patrimonio Culturale

International event at Xcenter on preserving dissonant heritage and the multivocal history of Nova Gorica railway station, featuring a roundtable and workshop.

You are invited on Sunday, September 28, at 17.00 at the Xcenter (Delpinova ulica 20, Nova Gorica) to an international event dedicated to the preservation of dissonant heritage in public spaces and the multivocal history of the Nova Gorica railway station.

Event title:
NOVA GORICA RAILWAY STATION. MULTIVOCALITY OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

The event will consist of two parts:

  1. Roundtable: PRESERVING DISSONANT HERITAGE

    • A discussion on the challenges of preservation and new approaches to understanding, interpreting, and presenting 20th-century cultural heritage, often perceived as dissonant due to its multivocality.

    • Presentation of the railway station renovation and the challenges in preserving its complex past.

    • Exploration of the concept of dissonant heritage through various international case studies.

  2. Workshop: THE NOVA GORICA RAILWAY STATION. BETWEEN HISTORY AND MEMORY

    • A joint reflection on the possibilities of understanding and making sense of multivocal and dissonant heritage, using the Nova Gorica railway station as a case study.

The event is open to the general public, both academic and non-academic, and will be held in Slovenian and Italian, with simultaneous translation provided.
