The evening for International Volunteer Day will focus on the value of volunteering as a practice capable of transcending traditional boundaries and promoting inclusion, dialogue, and cultural transformation for the common good. Writer Angelo Floramo and writer Anja Mugerli will offer readings from their stories written for the occasion: portraits and monologues that cross borders and frontiers, interweave personal and collective memories, imagine bridges where others have built walls, and tell stories of cross-breeding, resistance, and care that restore humanity.
Members of the Gorizia Prison Theater Workshop, along with actress Federica Mulas, will perform the performance "BORDER BLUE(S)" directed by Elisa Menon.
The performance is the result of a program of rehabilitation, inclusion, and community engagement, developed in collaboration with the director of the Gorizia Prison, Dr. Caterina Leva, and the prison's legal and educational director, Margherita Venturoli. The Carantan trio will combine tradition and musical influences to accompany the themes of borders and frontiers with sounds of encounter and memory.
