“Singing: the soul of Europe without borders” - Contemporary composers from Friuli Venezia Giulia, Slovenia and Scandinavia.

The project envisages the performance of three concerts in Gorizia, Nova Gorica and Trieste in October 2025 and aims to promote the acquaintance with important composers from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and neighboring Slovenia, while also broadening horizons to include some Scandinavian musicians who are particularly important in the field of choral literature, whose specific compositions perfectly match those of local musicians from the Gorizia, Isonzo, Friuli and Slovenian areas.

The project was designed to be implemented within the framework of the events "Gorizia-Nova Gorica European Capital of Culture 2025", and aims to promote the acquaintance with important composers from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and neighboring Slovenia, while also broadening horizons to some Scandinavian musicians who are particularly important in the field of choral literature, whose specific compositions perfectly match those of local musicians from the Gorizia, Isonzo, Friuli and Slovenian areas.

We deeply believe that music unites nations and that it knows no boundaries of nationality or ethnicity, but rather includes everyone in a higher expression that allows people and groups, even very different from each other, to harmonize.

In contemporary society, the lack of true and genuine education in the field of music creates a serious cultural void in "giving voice" to the human spirit; therefore, it is important to promote and rediscover the extraordinary effectiveness of this artistic language in expressing in every context the interior of each individual and each nation.

Music is an art that has undergone changes in language and understanding over centuries and generations, in line with the change in society, until it became an expression with greater effectiveness compared to other arts.

Therefore, it would be important and crucial to find valid and profound content through this language, which knows no cultural and ideological barriers, such as the language of music.

Of particular importance, especially in the historical period in which we live, is what the composer Paul Hindemith (1895-1963) said, who used to declare: "Nations that make music together cannot be enemies."
