My heart, I am suffering. What can I do for you?

Srce me boli. Kaj lahko storim zate?

A line from a song by Rita Pavone gives its title to "My Heart, I am Suffering," a performative act that speaks volumes about Antonio Marras's poetics, which tears, stitches, borrows, and recreates images, visions of popular culture, and narratives from the memory of forgotten objects. Calvino, Buzzati, or a verse from a forgotten song, which resurfaces from the mind and becomes, as it did for Barthes, suddenly important if you're in love.

The pain inflicted, the pain endured, the stages of life, personal stories, the melancholic and frightened childhood memories of reciting roll call or multiplication tables in elementary school. In the year of GO! 2025, Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture, ArtistiAssociati has chosen to create a unique and original site-specific project involving a group of 29 actors and performers, under the prestigious direction of Antonio Marras. For Antonio Marras, art is a constant source of inspiration, a guide. Art intertwines and unites all the worlds that are part of his life: drawing, fashion, vision, and, experiment after experiment, even the world of performing arts.
