THE BRIDGE OF ENCOUNTER – REUNITING Popular Harmonies

Ensemble Fadiesis Accordion & Strings For nearly a thousand years, the cross-border area around Gorizia and Nova Gorica was the undivided heart of the County of Gorizia, where the three great peoples of Europe-Latin, Slavic, and Germanic-met and blended. These deep and long-lasting interactions, particularly between Friulian and Slovenian cultures, have shaped the region’s folk music, often sharing melodies despite linguistic differences.

The concert’s repertoire, carefully selected through historical and musicological research, showcases this unity in diversity, with pieces transcribed specifically for the event.

Strings and accordions engage in a fascinating dialogue, where the accordion’s bellows breathe friendship across borders and oceans, offering notes of shared and authentic humanity.
