More Than Jazz

"More Than Jazz 2025 – Harmony Across Centuries” is the seventh edition of the jazz festival that since 2019 has brought great artists and young talents from the international jazz scene to the entire Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Confirmed for 2025 are the pianist Enrico Pieranunzi; the saxophonist Javier Girotto together with the pianist Michele Campanella and the Orchestra giovanile Filarmonici Friulani; and the French trio CODEX III.

The VII Edition of the More Than Jazz festival presents itself as a laboratory of contemporary music and new productions with a European flavour. 2025 is, in fact, the year of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica – Gorizia and the project has the ambition to propose a European artistic programme, in which the borders between states as well as those between genres are overcome.

As the name of the project - “More Than Jazz” - recalls, the aim is to go beyond the label and promote a contemporary live entertainment culture, also through an innovative mix of genres, hence the name of this edition “Harmony Across Centuries”. 

Crossing time, countries and musical genres, various tributes to great European composers will be offered to the public on the occasion of specific anniversaries: Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel, Domenico Scarlatti (340 years since his birth); Maurice Ravel (150 years since his birth); Pierre Boulez (100 years since his birth).
