Literary Evening: Presentation of the Book Gorica Nova Gorica – Connected Cities

A literary and conversational evening full of culture and history.

On 16 April 2025 at 19.00 you are invited to an inspiring literary evening where Andrea Bellavite will present his book Gorica Nova Gorica - Connected Cities in conversation with Barbara Pfeifer.

This remarkable guidebook takes the reader through both Gorizia and reveals a mosaic of architecture, tastes, sounds and colours through the eyes of the locals. It reveals the deep roots, the painful wounds of the past and the courageous rebirths of a shared cultural space. The book encourages the reader to explore hidden corners and rediscover familiar places through eight itineraries, numerous photographs and maps.

About the author:

Andrea Bellavite, born in Verona, has lived in Gorizia since 1968. He is a journalist, theologian, traveller and passionate cyclist. He has worked as director of various radio programmes, writes for numerous newspapers and publications and is editor-in-chief of La Lanterna magazine in Tržič. In 2011, he was awarded the Celso Macor Literary Prize for his short story about deserters in the First World War. He particularly enjoys spending his time hiking. In 2006, with a group of travellers, he conceived and founded the Cammino Celeste or Iter Aquileiense, a hiking trail from Aquileia to Monte Lussari.
