Direction: Jasmin Kovic, projection: Sybil Calligaris, set design: Giulia Bellé, music consulting: Ivano Cavallini, cross-border chamber orchestra

‘We worked a lot on the narrative structure, enhancing the suspense, weaving a compelling plot full of unexpected twists and turns’ Jasmin Kovic

‘The turbulent life of young Carlo Michaelstaedter has never been told in such a compelling way’ Ivano Cavallini

CARLO MICHAELSTAEDTER was an Italian writer, philosopher, and literary figure. He was born in Gorizia, the youngest of four children, to an affluent Jewish family. Enrolled at the strict local Staatsgymnasium, he adopted the rigid Austrian Bildung. Through translations from Greek and Latin, the young Michelstaedter had his first encounters with philosophical speculation. In Florence, he enrolled at the School of the Nude, where he met the Russian anarchist Nadia Baraden, who would change his life forever.
