Journalism Festival

The 11th edition will begin with a “Waiting for the Festival…” series from May 23 to June 1 in the municipalities surrounding Ronchi dei Legionari, involving several schools from the Region.

The Leali delle Notizie Journalism Festival will reach its 11th edition in 2025.

The event has become the flagship of the annual programming of the association, which since 2015 has brought numerous nationally and internationally renowned guests to the former province of Gorizia and beyond. 

The festival explores journalism from multiple perspectives: starting from current affairs and anniversaries of historical events to the presentation of the latest editorial innovations in the field. 

This aim reflects the core mission of our association. 

The festival is enriched by masterclasses, performances, and photojournalism exhibitions, offering the public a diverse and comprehensive schedule of events and initiatives to choose from.

In 2025, the Leali delle Notizie Journalism Award – In memory of Daphne Caruana Galizia will reach its 8th edition. 

It will be awarded to a media professional who risks their life in the pursuit and telling of truth.

The award is under the High Patronage of the European Parliament. 

The Leali Young Award – In memory of Cristina Visintini (Vice President of Leali delle Notizie, who passed away in 2021) will reach its 4th edition. A public call has been issued for young aspiring journalists to submit a piece of work, which will be evaluated by a scientific committee composed of prominent figures in the field.

The award will be presented during the festival in Ronchi dei Legionari, and the winners will have the opportunity to work alongside the press office throughout the event. 

In line with the goal of promoting youth engagement in topics such as legality, press freedom, and active citizenship, educational and collaborative programs will be launched with schools in Friuli Venezia Giulia and nearby Veneto. 

All the events in the program will take place from May 23 to June 1 as part of the preview series Waiting for the Festival…, held in the municipalities of Sagrado, Staranzano, Fogliano Redipuglia, Gradisca d’Isonzo, Gorizia, San Canzian d’Isonzo, San Pier d’Isonzo, Aquileia, and this year also in Doberdò del Lago.

The main events of the Journalism Festival will then be held from June 10 to 15 in Ronchi dei Legionari (GO).
