ITALY IN MY HEART

MONTEREALE VALCELLINA POLYPHONIC CHOIR PERLENOTE QUARTET ENSEMBLE Maurizio BALDIN – conductor Marzia POSTOGNA – soprano Andrea BINETTI – tenor and director in collaboration with THE INTERNATIONAL OPERETTA ASSOCIATION OF FRIULI V.G.

The show, in the form of a ‘Grand Gala’, is a musical tribute to the history of Italy: the story of the ‘Bel Paese’ told through music, memories and emotions.

Beginning in 1847, it traces a fascinating journey marked in the collective memory by magnificent musical works.

The performers will tackle a rich repertoire spanning all the major historical periods of our country: from the Risorgimento to the struggle for the homeland, via the singer-songwriter movement of the early 20th century, and post-war Italy, when the economy, employment and the zest for life began to recover. In the theatres, the ‘Rivista’ genre emerged with Garinei and Giovannini.

The economic boom of the 1960s also influenced music.

New genres emerged, such as ‘beach music’ and the songs of the ‘urlatori’ (screamers). The traditional melodic tradition still held sway.

In the 1970s, new singer-songwriters emerged. Music and songs have always accompanied us through the decades, making us one of the most beloved places in the world: ‘Viva l’Italia’.
