GORA

GORA

“Gora” is a truly special show: it tells young audiences a beautiful local legend, celebrating the region’s history, and is part of the vibrant GO!2025 season — bringing together the creativity of the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre (Lutkovno Gledališče).

Born from the GO!2025 Small Projects Fund of the EGTC GO, and financed by the INTERREG VI-A ITALY–SLOVENIA 2021/2027 program, Gora has already captivated many children over the summer. It now comes to the Sala 1954, inviting schools and families to rediscover, through imagination and poetry, the legend of the birth of Gorizia and Nova Gorica — with a remarkable protagonist: a giant “Gora” that becomes a hill and a symbol of both real and invisible borders. Created through a cross-border artistic residency, the performance exists in two “twin” versions — one Italian and one Slovenian — performed by actors from both countries and enriched with delightful linguistic and cultural exchanges.

The project is financed by the European Union through the GO! 2025 Small Project Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Programme, managed by the EGTC GO.
