Exploring the Art Beyond the Visible with Two Artists

At the Art Beyond the Visible exhibition in the Tactile Gallery, sculptor Boštjan Kavčič and artist Peter Mignozzi will present the three sculptures they created especially for this project.

Kavčič’s ORG CX – Memento mori is an interactive analog sculpture made from natural materials, while Mignozzi created Labyrinth of Perception and Touch from plexiglass.

On Friday, 30 May, at 18:00, the Tactile Gallery in Kromberk will host a gathering with two artists: sculptor Boštjan Kavčič and artist Peter Mignozzi. Kavčič’s work ORG CX – Memento mori is an interactive analog sculpture made from natural materials, while Mignozzi has created Labyrinth of Perception and Touch from plexiglass. Art Beyond the Visible at the Tactile Gallery is meant to be experienced through touch, and we hope you will also be touched by the presence of the artists themselves, as this will be a unique opportunity to meet the creators of three sculptures made especially for this project.

Kavčič’s piece, titled ORG CX – Memento mori, is an interactive analog sculpture composed of natural materials: stone from Rodine in Bela krajina, a 6,560-year-old fir tree from Čadrg, linden wood, and white quartz sand. The sculptor, who has personal ties to the origins of the materials, aims to raise awareness of the value of time and the meaning of life, encouraging us to live fully and purposefully. Visitors can feel the transience of time through their own touch.

Peter Mignozzi has created two works for the tactile gallery: Labyrinth of Perception and Touch. The first is wall-mounted and shaped like a round disc made of transparent plexiglass, engraved with finger-gliding channels. The second is an oval disc, 120 cm in diameter, suspended from the ceiling, featuring circular perforations as a tactile interpretation of Braille that spells out the word dotik ("touch"). Its purpose is not just an individual experience, but also to enable interaction between two people.

For this occasion, admission will be reduced to 3 euros, and the guided tour will be free of charge.
