eliXircles – films, talks and (r)evolutions

We invite you to an evening of collective exploration, where documentary screenings, idea exchange, and imagination will guide us through reflections on water, nature, and collective empowerment.

The first June gathering in the eliXircles series – films, conversations and (r)evolutions—will take place on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, from 20:00 to 22:00. The event invites the audience on a journey of discovery through images and words. Each edition features film screenings followed by a moderated discussion with guests—including experts, artists, and invited speakers. The stories on screen become seeds for collective reflection, nurturing wisdom and encouraging critical thinking.

eliXircles is part of the broader art-sci-tech project eliXir, developed within the xMobil platform at Xcenter. The project aims to expand knowledge, raise awareness, and strengthen resilience. Through active co-creation and the interweaving of culture, emotion, and science, eliXir seeks to contribute to the development of new (r)evolutions within the glocal community.

The event will open with a brief ten-minute introduction to the eliXir initiative and its core team: artist and visionary leader Jatun Risba, wild food expert Vita Matjaž (Floravita), and innovator / technologist Uroš Brežavšček.

The introduction will be followed by two documentary screenings. The first, a Slovenian documentary titled "All Roads Lead to Water", directed by Arne Brejc and written by Anton Komat, invites us on a contemplative journey to the springs of "living water" in Slovenia. Produced by RTV Slovenia in 2016, the film encourages the viewer—in a time of lost values and alienation—to look into the water and within, revealing the symbolic and scientific power of these life sources.

The second screening, "Farming Is Medicine", is an English-language documentary with English subtitles that explores the connections between health inequities, colonialism, climate change, and agriculture. Directed by Masha Karpoukhina and produced by Colorfool Films in collaboration with Deep Medicine Circle (2025), the film features experts such as Dr. Rupa Marya, human rights lawyer Walter Riley, and ethnobotanist Sage LaPena. It presents farming as a transformative practice capable of healing both people and the planet.

The evening will conclude with a roundtable and open discussion between the eliXir team and special guest Anton Komat, moderated by Peter Purg.
